Knee

Cute Cassie and Chris

Isn't this just the cutest pic of the two lovebirds? I saw it in a neat book that Cassie gave us for a gift. Hint-hint! I am getting in the picture/scrapbook stage and got some new albums so while Dad is lying in the hospital bed , writhing in pain, I can be putting pictures in the new books. I am excited. I have a major announcement to make--ta da! I got all my jewelry put into departments. This has been a task I have put off forever. Also I have cleaned 3/4 of my closet out, did you know I had 30 or so white tee shirts, quite an awesome collection, I must be feeling the surge of spring fever or else I must be organizing my stuff so that you guys won't continue to think I am a slob, probably the slob wins out. So come on down and have a closet tour, I think the little girls would enjoy the jewelry tour better. Well, we are going to read scriptures now, Love from Farmer and Nona!!!!!

Daniel Peter Stephens

My Dad's younger brother was Peter. He was born on Feb. 21, 1933. He was the uncle that was on the Scorpion, that disappeared the summer of 1969. I remember him pretty well. He married Judie Saunders and I was their flower girl. Her parents were so nice to me, they treated us as grandchildren. They had two children, Spencer Keith.,who has two children, Kaitlyn and Meredith. Their other son is Roger Rees Stephens, he is divorced. I called Judie on Sunday and we had a wonderful conversation. It was so good to hear her voice, she has always been so nice to me. I will inclose her e-mail address and I hope that you will each take a minute to write to her. She never has remarried since Peter died, he was truly her one and only. I hope that you will get to know her, she is so much fun. We had a 2 hour conversation about everything under the sun. She is amazed at all you girls and guys and your great children, please send her some pictures!!!!! I love you all. Be praying for your wonderful Dad. This is funny today, I went into Kohl's and spent the great giftcard and THIS VERY SNOTTY young girl looked at me when I bought some cool Sketcher's and acted like I had no right to be looking at such young looking shoes!!! She doesn't know me very well, does she, I'm just 39! Judie's e-mail is Judies @Rivnet.net Love, from us

Baptism

"Jesus answered and said unto them, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." John 3:5. I was looking through the photo album and i came across this picture of Lacey's baptism and others. It reminds me that Baptism is the door to eternal salvation and the Celestial Kingdom. I am so proud when my grandchildren are baptized. As proud as I was when each of my children were baptized. It is my prayer that all of my grandchildren will be baptized so that we can be together in the Celestial Kingdom with Christian and our ancestors. I love you all, Dad.

The McKay Rides

one of Gary's favorite times were spent in the mountains on his horse. especially fun were the rides with the McKay's. Barry Sr.,Jr. Kyle and Quinn and others. Geezel would look forward to these rides all year long. one of the sad things about getting older is that some of the fun things you did when you were younger become impossible to do anymore. we wouldn't want Gary to fall off one a rock haha. this is his 69th BDay. he is a kind and gentle man. and we all love him a lot.

Late Valentines Day

Dear everyone,

Sorry this is so late. hope you had a fun valentine's day. Dad Spencer and Gary had some candy treats from Mom. and then rose petals (fake) were spread all over the house :/ i thought it was pretty ingenious. although it was very slippery and she was afraid dad would fall and break a hip and not be able to get up hahahaha. he woulda had to roll into the bedroom and then i could have gotten to all his candy haha which i did anyways. i walked today Monday, for one mile it took me 20 min. don't laugh too hard. i was listening to Chicago the best band ever when i was walking. hope you're having fun dad and i love you all!!

Abraham lincoln

Much will be written and said today about Abraham Lincoln on this, the 200th anniversary of his birth.
Some will reflect on his role in abolishing slavery and preserving the Union during a divisive Civil War. Others will lament the tragedy of his assassination. Still others, in view of the recent change in administrations, will discuss our new President's very public references to Lincoln and his announced attempt to mimic some of Lincoln's approaches to governing.
Indeed Lincoln's words are wise and much about him is worthy of emulation. Yet of all of the words he wrote and spoke, and the wise quotations that abound in print, our thoughts this day turn to a story he told in 1859 that have particular bearing during this current time of national crisis:
"It is said an Eastern monarch once charged his wise men to invent him a sentence to be ever in view, and which should be true and appropriate in all times and situations. They presented him the words: 'And this, too, shall pass away.' How much it expresses! How chastening in the hour of pride! How consoling in the depths of affliction!"*
Timely, comforting words, in KSL's view, from our nation's 16th President who was born two centuries ago today.

Aimee and HannaH

Dear Everyone, this is really me typing tonight! Don't fall off of your chairs, I found this sweet picture of Aimee, HannaH and the soon to be Eve. It made me so proud of all you girls for putting your lives on the line when you are having one of our little precious grandchildren. Tonight Lacey and Greg are awaiting the birth of little ????? We are all thinking of you guys, up in the hospital waiting and waiting ............but it will be with it !!!!! I am very jealous of all of you, I would love a new little new baby at our house, gee I should have bought Natalie's dog, Carlos. It would probably have been quieter at night, but there is nothing as wonderful as rocking a new cuddly baby, I don't think Carlos would have liked that, either would Dad. We love you all.Love Farmer and Nona

New Blog

So mom and dad finally got a blog. mom doesn't know how to turn the computer on. but she is relying heavily and i mean heavily on spencer to help out with it. Our life is pretty boring, not really boring but predictable. for the last 4 weeks every monday or wednesday we've been going to come up north for dad to see the doctor. so we watch the weather then all night long we check the road conditions and that determines whether we'll go or not. so this next wed which is the feb 4 we should and i mean maybe be coming up to bring belated christmas birthday and valentine gifts to you all. umm put your order in for bare minerals i've got some new ones that came. umm let's see tonight i made dinner the first time since christmas day besides pancake sundays. and everybody said it was wonderful but they would probably think dog food was wonderful at this point. haha can't wait to show you ny new ring (bling bling). there will never be any pics of me some of dad though. mine will be with a paper bag over my head haha. so carry on and include me in your blogger club. Farmer and i are proud of all you kids and grandkids. you've done a good job with the grandkids. love Nona aka Mom and Farmer aka Dad
